Assistant Director of Online Field Instruction in West Harrison, NY

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ONLINE FIELD INSTRUCTION Fordham University has an excellent reputation as a dynamic institution in the cultural heart of New York City. Founded in 1841, Fordham enrolls more than 15,100 undergraduate and graduate students in its 10 Colleges and Schools. The University is currently seeking an experienced social services professional to serve as the Assistant Director of Online Field Instruction for the Graduate School of Social Service at the Fordham Westchester campus. In this key role, the Assistant Director will develop, implement, coordinate and organize all aspects of the Online field program; research and identify rural and underserved geographic areas for recruitment of students and field agencies; and will expand Fordham's GSSS online program into a nationwide program. The Assistant Director will oversee Regional Coordinators/field advisors for students in the program; pursue relationships with field agencies; develop and implement online field planning meetings for all online students; develop and teach an online Seminar in Field Instruction for all new online field instructors; and oversee and monitor an advisement team to be kept advised of students' field issues. In addition, the successful candidate will coordinate and participate in Administrative Reviews and Committees on Academic Progress for students experiencing learning challenges at their field placements; participate in the Distance Education Committee, Field Policy Committee and other committees related to the online field program; maintain relationships with field agencies and other schools of social work and online MSW programs; hire support staff for the online field office; conduct quality assurance of the online field program; provide reports to Deans; maintain and organize all forms and paperwork to be disseminated to students and field agencies; and other responsibilities as directed. Qualified candidates should possess an MSW degree with a minimum of 7 years' post-MSW experience, including experience as a faculty adviser and/or field instructor. Excellent clinical skills and training are required. Must have teaching experience or demonstrated facility for public speaking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to function effectively and independently in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment, handling multiple tasks with attention to detail, are necessary. Must be flexible to participate in occasional evening events and share Saturday coverage. Familiarity with the agency/provider system in the lower Hudson Valley and Connecticut is desirable.
